Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Today we had reserved tickets for the tour to the top of the Petronas Twin Towers.  The tallest twin towers in the world!  Gary got seniors pricing which was almost a 50% discount! 🤑

This morning we toured the Petronas Towers!
We started at the bottom, and took the elevator to the 41st floor where the bridge is located 170 M above the street.
Lots of opportunities for selfies!
The side of the Petronas Tower with the KL Tower in the background.
The beautiful park area behind Petronas below is surrounded by huge trees and huge buildings. We ended up on the 81st floor which is 370 M above the street!
The front side of the buildings is framed by roads with a water fountain which shows up blue from above!
Looking up from the street.

After the twin towers we dropped off some shopping at the hotel and headed to the subway to figure out how to buy train tickets to the Batu Caves.  We met Richardo, from Brazil, who was also new to the subway.  We finally bought tickets but never paid quite enough.  When we went to exit the subway platform to change trains we could not get out.  We each had to pay another 1 ringgit 70 cents (MYR 1.70 = $0.55 CAD). We then bought tickets for the second train which was slightly better because we got seats.  The train was slow and never got over about 20 kmh.  Coming home we took a Grab and it was 18 MYR (ringgit) or $5.80 CAD

Batu - Little caves. We paid a few ringgit to get in these first smaller caves, the big cave was free!
It's a long way to the top of the steps! You can see those steps going up beside the big Buda!
Batu Caves and many steps to the top!
You think you are at the top of the steps and you go inside the cave and there are more steps!
Back down at the bottom of the stairs!

Hot and tired, back at the hotel, we decided to have a beer.  We had to wait 2 hours for the Bridge Bar to open.

It's almost more impressive looking down.
Guinness Time
Bridge Bar is on the walkway "bridging" between two hotel towers.
Storm clouds a brewing!
Storm arrives as we eat supper!

We ate supper in the hotel restaurant on the 28th floor, the same place we get our inclusive breakfast.  We watched the rain storm go by with a good view of the skyline.

We thought about running over to Petronas for some night time photos after the rain but finally stayed in the hotel and got a restful evening in our room.  Today we put on 9.3 km on our feet and climbed 31 floors. Our feet are sore and legs are tired!  At least we didn’t get caught in the rain tonight!

Monkeys at Batu Caves have no fear of people with food.
